  1. I'm willing to make this the standard custom, too. It just so happens that I am a pimp but more so in the specialty categories (trannies, amputees and the like)... Business really picks up around Halloween. (Apologies in advance to any mods who may be trannies or the like). tranny tiger was about to ban you
  2. Accept for the whole McNutt having a far better season than Archer aside from the injuries thing. (a) accept? #-o (b) he really hasn't been better, certainly not "far better"... his K rate is way down, and his whip and era are just about as bad as archer's.
  3. isn't camp colvin the term for having skinny guys start lifting a lot and maybe have beefcake 3000 to put on some weight? golden needs to just exercise and not eat junk food.
  4. sanchez seems to have some pop but the other hitting skills seem pretty poor. it seemed to be debut night for the cubs - rusin at AAA, loosen at AA, del valle at low A. that berlind guy doesn't look like he'll be around too long, judging by his performance tonight ben wells: 5 ip, 1 h, 1 er, 2 bb, 3 k, hbp, 9 go/2 fo not so good for canadian draftee brian smith: 2 ip, 5 h, 5 er, 1 bb, 2 k, 1 hr reggie golden has singled and walked twice in his 3 plate appearances... also stole a base.
  5. the bonus babies had a nice day for DSL Cubs 2... j. baez was 1-2 with a pair of walks and 2 SBs, penalver (ok not so great) was 0-3 with a walk and an error, and candelario was 3-4 with a home run, walk and an error. x batista hit his 6th home run, which seems like a lot for a 19 year old in that league.
  6. Yeah, that guy sucks.... Way to step it up, Garza. step it up? the cubs have the second-worst record in baseball, are you suggesting this was a big game or something?
  7. even if your sarcasm detector is completely broken, it's safe to assume that an NSBB moderator is not going to be a meatball who thinks that aramis is lazy and zambrano is one of those fiery latins.
  8. daytona rained out... tis the season
  9. well he would've gotten in and i suspect starlin would've been left off in favor of someone like stephen drew. of course, with the SS injuries starlin might have made it anyway.
  10. yeah law's opinions about szczur are blatantly wrong. i mean, you don't have to love the guy as a prospect, but to compare him to juan pierre is just ignorant, and he clearly has pretty good plate discipline too.
  11. Most expect him to. How much is the question. He was a difficult guy to project in that, coming out of HS, he had good to plus speed, but was so skinny. Some folks think he could become a Flaherty-esque guy, particularly if he moves permanently off short (should be clear, the Flaherty comps were pre-2011, when there was some question as to how much power Ryan Flaherty could produce). flaherty hit 20 home runs in 2009, i don't think there was ever much question that flaherty would have good power for a middle infielder... i think the bigger issue with him was where he would play.
  12. I'm going to word this carefully. If you don't stop using pictures in 95% of your posts, I'm going to ban you. pictures or the word "stinks" please
  13. i think they lost wimbledon more because of this:
  14. contrary kyle strikes again
  15. Yesterday was his debut and he 0/3. so he's 0/5 then? :-)
  16. easterling is 2-2 in his debut, although when you consider that he's been picked off and caught stealing, it's more like he's 0-2.
  17. kirk wasn't part of that draft. is anyone else thoroughly unimpressed with our cuban signees? the 22 year old catcher (500k bonus) isn't hitting at boise, rubi silva looks like he has a marginal bat and serrano's K rate is lousy. i know we didn't make a huge investment in those players, but i feel like you should do better for $1.75 million worth of guys who are supposed to be pretty polished coming out of advanced cuban leagues.
  18. 2.1 ip, 5 h, 5 er, 2 bb, 0 k, balk, wild pitch... pulled from the game. =D>
  19. it's not that it's bad, it's more that a 22 year old first round draft pick should not be struggling at that level.
  20. i tried to steal moore from someone in my league, but failed. i guess i can comfort myself with trout, teheran and shelby miller (among others)
  21. i don't care what's in the best interest of the team, i'm mad dammit, fire everyone!!!
  22. struck's final line: 5.2 ip, 6 h, 2 er, 4 bb, 4 k. brett jackson is 0-4 with 3 k's, so imb wasn't far off. jokisch pitched well, but he really isn't a prospect.
  23. am i allowed to drop vance worley and pick up another pitcher? he pitched well this week but is being sent down. now with matusz and drabek in the minors, along with worley, i have 14 players on my roster who are in the minor leagues. if anyone would like one of those 14 players - presumably someone who has bad prospects and room to stash a prospect on their roster - make me an offer. (note - i don't mean mike trout/julio teheran/shelby miller)
