  1. didn't everyone say that vitters' greatest strength is being able to make contact? granted almora should have a big leg up on vitters due to his defense and baserunning, but being able to put pitchers' pitches into play isn't necessarily a positive.
  2. he could be better than soler by on playing premium defense at a more demanding position. if his defense/baserunning/hitting is all plus at the big league level, he'll really only have to develop average power, which most people expect him to have.
  3. i feel like reds catchers always kill the cubs. ramon hernandez, ryan hanigan, david ross, etc.
  4. keeping him at the top of my cubs prospect list.
  5. of all the lousy offensive players on the cubs, you decide to crap on anthony rizzo?
  6. don't know if he's done yet, but 6 ip, 5 h, 1 r, 2 bb, 8 k, 1 hbp, 1 wp, 87 pitches/57 strikes, 4 ground outs/4 fly outs.
  7. i'm thinking pierce johnson shouldn't be too long for kane county. his bb/k ratio is really strong - would guess that he's been pretty unlucky on batted balls without doing the math.
  8. almora has now doubled his walk total as a professional. \:D/
  9. baez has almost as many errors this year as walks in his professional career. :x
  10. almora 4/6 with 2 doubles. definitely not worried about whether or not he can hit. 2 walks in 35 professional games is a concern, though.
  11. so far, 38 pitches/17 strikes for maples. :x
  12. the marlins have been shut out 9 times. they've scored more than 3 runs in a game 10 times.
  13. wonder what is going on with austin kearns. he was put on the bereavement list in early may and then was moved to the restricted list. normally you don't miss 2-3 weeks with bereavement.
  14. wait so kyle is the one saying optimistic things and N&G is on the ledge? what is going on here
  15. daniel bard was one of the top young setup men in baseball a couple of years ago. then they tried to make him a starter and he completely fell apart. more walks than innings pitched this year in the minors and they've just him down for a while, apparently just to clear his head.
  16. He did that like 2 games ago also. WTF.
  17. Yeah we "know what we have" in people like LaHair and Raley because they were given a chance and they sucked, just like everyone told you they would.
