that's pretty impressive, because he's a good hitter with solid power. you'd think that pitchers have to pitch him somewhat carefully. you can understand why juan pierre never walks, but a player like adam jones should draw like 30 walks a year just by accident.
what's so bad about this? samardzija isn't really good enough/young enough to say that you absolutely don't trade him. you listen to offers, and if they start throwing around names like bradley and skaggs then maybe there's something to work on.
blackburn was victimized by infield hits and clown shoes defense in the 4th. gave up a walk, 2 infield hits, one fielding error and two hawks teammates throwing the ball away. 3 unearned runs.
ah i clicked on his name and he has the PR flag next to his name. guess he was born in puerto rico? although puerto ricans are american citizens, so i don't see why they're part of the world team anyway.
The last minute or 1:15 of that audio is just great. there's complete silence (or maybe hawk just mumbling incoherently for a short time), then stone chimes in with something because the silence has become ridiculous and it's becoming painfully obvious how unprofessional it is to just have minutes of dead air in the 9th inning of a tie game, then hawk starts moaning again. what a dumb dick. how do white sox fans listen to him?
lol wtf was beckham doing on that play? idiot. would love to hear hawk's call of that play. and here it is: http://www.fangraphs.com/not/hawk-harrelson-is-upset/ :rotfl:
i guess the bad thing about drafting all these pitchers is that the hitting prospects in short season ball are truly uninspiring. this has to be about the least interesting AZL cubs offense in a long time.
