    yeah, i won't bitch about the cubs wasting millions on samardzija and other assorted major league players, but then all of a sudden having to obey slot money the year that a big piece to the puzzle is available in the draft. So who are you bitching at? I have no idea. Just bitching in general. It still seems ridiculous to me that the Cubs have to be handcuffed by money during this draft, when the actual budget for a draft is such a small part of the overall spending on the team. It seems to me that as long as the Trib owns the Cubs, they should operate like a large market team, and the next person coming in knows that they're buying a large market team. It's the uncertainty of future ownership that's causing this. It's nothing to blame the Cubs about at all - for once. This truly is a Trib decision. fine, then the trib is wrong

    I'm sure they did too, but unless those draft slots are a hard and fast rule, the Cubs are free to tell Bud to F off.... something they did when the drafted Prior, Brownlie, E. Patterson, and a lot of guys last year.

    maybe if it was a poll for fav cub ever he'd get some votes. i took him for granted when he was here. i miss him now. you probably took him for granted because he wasn't that good when he was here. Combine the idiotic baserunning and lousy fielding with the disappointing bat, and there wasn't a lot to enjoy about the Moises Alou era.

    uh, not so much. I watch them knowing that they stink and will not win. I actually do that with all the teams I root for. Just because I cheer for them to win doesn't mean I'm crazy/dumb enough to believe that they actually will. well, i suppose then, i wonder why a person would invest time into a cause they don't believe in. force of habit.... plus i like baseball in general

    apparently michigan can beat vandy but not penn state... they somehow lost 4 times to psu this year

    I don't think anyone is saying he's been bad, but he was directly responsible for the Brewers taking the lead. right... just thought I would defend him amid all the bitching about bad defense and fundamentals. He's been pretty good all year.
