  1. I doubt that 1-0 score will hold. yeah well i doubted that tim redding could pitch 5 innings in a row without giving up a run, so who knows
  2. i really havent been that pissed all year. But im so freaking pissed at hill right now. Most angry i have been all year for sure. don't be pissed at hill... he's sucked his whole career. Be pissed at Hendry for putting him on this team.
  3. oh well, at least the nationals are winning... knock on wood
  4. Is your sig an actual quote or a joke? It's a joke either way, but did he really say that? yes, sadly enough he did say that
  5. i propose we officially change koyie hill's name to "the light-hitting koyie hill"
  6. no way the cubs score 2 more runs off this bum
  7. that's what happens when you can't locate any of your pitches
  8. i thought we agreed not to write it this way
  9. that's what they call "baseball instincts" folks!
  10. TruffleShuffle is trying to figure out how a player with the fourth highest VORP among ALL position players can be considered "essentially worthless at his position."
  11. we really could use dempster back.... with him in there, along with wuertz, howry and marmol as setup men and ohman as a loogy, the bullpen is actually quite deep.
  12. Fun fact - Matt Morris' WHIP is higher than any of the Cubs' starters. The fact that his name came up in a discussion about acquiring an "ace" is comical.
  13. what's the point... Murton is probably a better player than Nady. PECOTA sure thinks so, anyway.
  14. I can't believe the tally is even as close as it is. The Cubs don't have a starter who deserves to be moved out of the rotation - each of their starters have been above-average; Zambrano has the worst numbers, but has been pitching like an ace over the past few outings. Meanwhile, the Cubs are probably one of the worst offensive teams in baseball up the middle. You know what you're going to get from ARam and Soriano, but Lee can't seem to hit homers any more. DeRosa has been good, but isn't guaranteed to keep producing at this level. Floyd is aging and will continue to get hurt in the second half, Fontenot is coming back to earth. The need for a big bat is much, much greater than the need for a great starter. Not to mention that big bats tend to come more cheaply than aces at the deadline.
  15. thanks for missing that 3-1 pitch braun
  16. Miller's career stats Guess which year is by far the worst of his career? moises alou redux
  17. damian miller's batting average just went up over .300 with a single
  18. simontacchi throws a meatball to fielder... nats are gonna blow it :x
