how many catchers in MLB are considered an actual offensive threat? Pudge? Victor Martinez Jorge Posada Russell Martin Joe Mauer Brian McCann Kenji Johjima (to some extent now) Pudge But most teams have catchers who aren't a complete black hole on offense.

Yeah, I listened to the interview over and Rome didn't even ask about Derosa's injury. to be fair, i wouldn't expect jim rome to know about a minor injury to a decent player. If I wasn't a Cub fan, I'm sure I wouldn't know about it.

A little bit maybe, but not much. The Padres pen will still be the best in the league, in all likelihood. not likely. Hoffman is still very good obviously, and Cla Meredith is a good pitcher. Heath Bell is mediocre but is having a career year, Doug Brocail is mediocre and 87 years old, Kevin Cameron isn't likely to keep up a 0.52 ERA with a WHIP of 1.24 (!!!), and Justin Hampson's K-rate is too low. The only way they have the best pen in the league is with a lot of luck.

that's only this year.... last year he was fine on the road, and 2 years ago he was lights out. He's been one of the better middle relievers in baseball. It's a good pickup for the Brewers, but they had to pay a pretty steep price in Inman.

Did every one of the players have road beef waiting for them? My God that's bad, especially for a game in which they had 7 hits! A list of the ABs: 1-pitch: 10 2-pitch: 9 3-pitch: 6 4-pitch: 3 5-pitch: 2 6-pitch: 1 Yeah, when 19 of your 31 PAs see two or fewer pitchers... wow. I'm surprised that this was a team other than the Cubs. -
Wait, so the Reds won't trade 37 year old David Weathers, who isn't that great but would probably bring a decent return? But they'll trade Todd Coffey in a year that he's pitched like crap and diminished his trade value? If true, Krivsky really is an idiot. Wait what am I saying, we already know this.
