  1. Garcia is a free agent in 2008, and KW got some great prospects in return. He wasn't going to sign a deal anyway, Williams sold high and got a great deal. you're being very generous in calling gavin floyd and gio gonzalez "great prospects"
  2. he's been hitting pretty well, but his plate discipline is still atrocious, so i'm taking it with a grain of salt Hey, he took a walk last week! that fulfills his monthly quota
  3. he's been hitting pretty well, but his plate discipline is still atrocious, so i'm taking it with a grain of salt
  4. go one-pitch rich, let's see a good outing tomorrow
  5. I can't decide if this is funny or dumb
  6. Murton was established, he did that all of last year. I'm not sure why everyone talks about him like 2006 didn't exist.
  7. I'm not worried about Colvin because I decided last year that he'd never be anything more than a fourth outfielder. Now Felix Pie, there's a guy I'm actually worried about, because I expect more than that from him, and his performance at the big league level, plus his strike zone judgment, are worrisome.
  8. Matt Murton's 2007 game log I'm not sure how anyone can say he had a full chance this year and blew it. He started only 10 games in April, and 4 of the first 11. He did get some more playing time in August, mostly because the Cubs had no choice, but after getting on a pretty good roll he had three consecutive oh-fers and now he's banished to the bench once again.
  9. looks like my BB prediction will be a little low and he won't get to 221 innings, plus his ERA will be a little higher than I predicted. The strikeouts are pretty close to 1 per inning though, and his record should be a lot better than it is.
  10. kudos to him for the good attitude.... if i had a solid season and then was benched for a series of inferior players, i don't know if i'd take it so well
  11. yeah bob wickman should've taken a look at his own numbers before he bitched about not closing.
  12. I knew someone would respond like this. Almost word for word of the sarcastic remark I expected. But my post was not to dog Hendry for not getting him. There were plenty of reasons not to: injury history, past chemistry problems, and in light of the Barrett situation earlier this year, it was a long shot. The point of my post was to show that what I was saying in July that this was a high reward, low risk signing worth taking and that it has turned out that Bradley has turned in the best possible result so far. ah, so your point was to demonstrate your baseball genius. there's alot of 'I told you so' ing happening on the board right now. we all get some right and get some wrong. just curious, do you pop in to eat crow on the ones you get wrong? And what's your point? I don't need to prove anything, my track record speaks for itself. I'm never wrong. mephistophles has somehow logged in under rawaction's ID
  13. I'd settle for Derrek Lee circa 2005. http://www.tedwilliams.com/_data/images/1941s/title3.jpg a walk per game and only 27 (!!) strikeouts
  14. hey it was a great night, i went out and got drunk, didn't think about the cubs once, and when i got home i found out that they won and the brewers lost. good times!
  15. Must keep: J-Roll Braun Bedard Probably should keep: Josh Beckett Next four: Lance Berkman Manny Ramirez Shane Victorino Brandon Phillips
  16. What are you even implying? Gamethread yesterday regarding Z, and him not being an ace. yeah this "fan" thinks that carlos zambrano is a far cry from being johan santana
