  1. One of these guys has to get a hit at some point. Now would be ok
  2. Guy gets behind everyone but Lee somehow is down 0-2
  3. Is this Pitt's starters first start this year? GIDP, fun
  4. He has little patience with younger pitchers. He has a lot of patience with bums like Marquis. I guess unfortunately I know.
  5. Yeah, I was about to head down late, and man I would have been peeved if I fought traffic and was greeted with that.
  6. Seriously, Lou seems to have little patience with his pitchers. What is it going to take to make a change here. Almost a certainty to be losing quickly with him starting. Marshall may not be stretched out yet, but what about Hart?
  7. As long as Marquis can stay ahead. He always seems to be behind in the count. Nice 2 outs.
  8. The Days Inn is by far the best place to stay that is close. It's a Days Inn, but is the nicest one of all of them, wins all sorts of awards, etc. Fun area, lots of restaurants and bars around there, and no more than a mile to the park. It's a nice walk when it's nice out, or a really short cab ride. If you want to stay in the area, stay there. If you don't stay downtown, but you generally will coin up.
  9. Not silly to me. Although I'm skipping the convention this year and going to one of the Caravan stops.
  10. I think the team should be made up of people who will ultimately win the World Series. Discuss!! Seriously hasn't this thread been beaten enough? Oh, and the venom in this discussion is amazing.
  11. I for one am all for an upgrade at SS, but the clamoring for Cedeno I just don't get. I have never been impressed with what he has shown at the ML level outside of a month or so a year ago. Theriot is a good guy to have on the bench however. My guess is that he was part of a significant portion of the games that the Cubs came back late in. It did always seem that if they needed someone on, he found a way to get on. To me that doesn't mean he should get 500+ AB's, but is valuable to have oin the team. Cedeno, because he is younger, great, but I just have not been impressed. Hope I'm wrong.
  12. I don't remember exactly, but I believe Looper's daytime numbers are very good, and also his 2nd half performance much better than 1st.
  13. Come on ex Sox?
  14. This offense is nauseating. Has there been a year since 2003 that the offense has been good in Sep? Every freakin year they can't hit when they need to (I guess I'm just remembering end 2004 very vividly right now).
  15. Any time our pitchers want to throw 0's the first 3-4 innings that would be great. How many games in a row has the opp scored in the 1st or 2nd now? It'd be nice to have and early lead and help them all to relax.
