Definately Adventureland, Living History Farms, and Blank Park Zoo for the kids. I hear good things about the new science center too, but have never been. You could easily kill lots of time at Jordan Creek too, and there are a couple good restaurants in the complex and on the main road heading to. If you want good restaurants try the Waterfront(great seafood), or Shanghai Cafe(chinese/vietnames - dont let the run down outside fool you, it's very nice inside and one of the best unknown spots). Keep in mind there's also a gigantic mall in Coralville(about an hour from des moines) that's close to the size of the Mega Mall. It's got an indoor ice rink, plus tons of shopping, can easily make a day out of the trip.

I'd have still have Freel, Hanley Ramirez (about 30 steals worth), and Granderson for steals, would end up around 110 or so for roto. Be nice if Granderson would actually steal some bases.

I've got a deal working with someone I know. He needs catching, bad. I've got Barrett and Varitek, he has Willis on the block. So we've gotten to where my choices are Varitek and Mussina/Baez/possible Duke for Willis. I'm deep at catcher and would be happy to pick up a Brian McCann as a backup - would you deal Mussina and Tek for Willis?

what is the deal w/ a friggin' tuesday afternoon game? i have class at 11, 12, 1, and 3, making getting to this game practically impossible. why don't they just push hill back to tuesday to rub it in a little more. :( I'm heading out the door to catch it in a few minutes. I agree, with your outfield you shouldn't be afraid to trade him, but make sure your getting value back. Id try for Hafner if you can.

If it's a keeper league, most definately. If it's not..tough choice, depends on the rest of your lineup.

I've gotten 3 calls from people who were a few minutes lagging on the pickup after I landed him. Somehow Shelton was still available too, so today wasn't all bad.

He's definately got the potential, but I couldnt bring myself to burn a 1-2 round pick on a guy who's got less than half a year experience in the majors.

He is available because the guy dropped him thinking he didn't need him. He does have two other good 1Bs though but it was a mistake to drop him no doubt. I have 2nd waiver priority so we'll see what happens. I am guaranteed John Patterson or Howard though so we'll see. Wow. I've got a logjam at 1st too, but at least deal the guy for something. Good for you at any rate.

jealous much I think he's serious. That's not a good team for a 10 team league. Are you serious? I'm pretty pleased with the starters all around, moved Wilkerson for Carlos Guillen. The OF might be a little unproven with Gomes, but productive outfielders come up from the minors all the time if he busts. I'll post the final roster after some waiver claims go through (if they do). Nomar and Polanco have no buisness of being a starter in a 10 team league. Nomar you can MAYBE make a case for at SS, but you better have a backup plan. Your relief pitching is horrible, but I don't like drafting top-notch closers high so having bad relief pitching doesn't really bother me much. Zambrano and Peavy are a nice 1-2 combination. Zach Duke has been getting lit up this spring, but last season he was very impressive. Sabathia is pretty good and Weaver has a ton of potential to be good, so you should be alright with your starting pitching. It's definitely not a great team. Probably somewhere middle of the pack. I picked up Guillen as insurance for Nomar. Polanco I'm quite happy with, people forget the year he had last year and his spring so far. I don't care about relief pitching, at all - I dont bother with saves. I've already moved Weaver for Clement (my idea, hunch) and have a claim in to grab Oliver Perez off waivers. Anyways, it's not a list of sexy names, but I like gambling with potential and hunches. And really for a 10-person league, no one has a powerhouse team. It's spread pretty even, and only about 5 teams look like theyll compete.

10 Person League. Pretty happy overall, except that one moron drafted ONLY Cubs and A's, so he took Ramirez in the first round.
