This year’s draft will again feature just 20 rounds. Day 1, which begins tonight at 6 p.m. CT and can be viewed on ESPN and MLB Network, will include the first and second rounds as well as both competitive balance rounds and all compensation rounds. There will be 74 selections total.

The Cubs will make two picks tonight, with the first one coming 14th overall in the first round. They will also draft 57th overall .

We're excited to bring back the Cubs Draft Tracker which will be kept up-to-date not only during the draft but through the entire signing period. So keep coming back for updates!

There will be a lot going on during the draft both on and off this website. We will try to make updates to the story (and add links) as things happen, so keep refreshing! Otherwise, there will be plenty of activity in the comments. This is the place to be tonight during the draft!

Of course, we invite all of you to join us on tonight's livestream, which will run for the entirety of tonight's draft.

The draft will continue tomorrow, Monday, with Round 3, beginning at 1 p.m. CT.

Where does he slot into the team’s prospect rankings? 8-10?

I have him at 8 with Horton, Alcantara, Caissie, Ballesteros, Shaw, Rojas and Triantos ahead of him.

Yep. Those two teams did what I feared the Cubs would do. Glad the Xubs took who they did.

Milwaukee has 4 picks today so they're better suited to go underslot early but that said, there are numerous draft analysts who think there's a big fall off around 50 or so.

Still no prep arms drafted yet, seems like teams are very gunshy this year.

I've enjoyed the ESPN draft coverage. I don't have MLB Network anymore but this seems way better than Harold Reynolds.

Cam Caminiti to Atlanta, First prep pitcher.

Ryan Sloan (from Elmhurst) apparently has a $4 million number so it's probably Arizona, Cleveland, Milwaukee or Wake Forest.

    I think so.

I think general consensus is Horton, Ballesteros, Shaw, Caissie, Triantos, Rojas and Alcántara make the top 7 in some order.  I’d have Smith below all of them. Probably would take Smith over Wiggins who was my 8th prospect.

Yeah I think him and Wiggins are In their own little tier, behind all the guys who get real top 100 consideration, we'll ahead of Birdsell/Rosario/Hernandez or anyone else you would potentially throw a 45 on.

I have Hernandez closer to Wiggins/Smith than Rosario/Birdsell, but yeah I'm pretty firm on Smith at 8
