Mike Cameron may have asked the Mets for a trade to a team that would play him in center field, the New York Daily News reports.

According to a high-placed Mets operative, Cameron put in his trade request before the start of the GM meetings yesterday. The Mets are open to the possibility of moving Cameron and upgrading offensively in right field. Getting Manny Ramirez would be ideal, but if that doesn't work out, other scenarios can be explored.
