10/1 Yankees-Red Sox game thread

Winner today clinches at least a tie of the AL East. Also, if Cleveland loses today, the winner is guaranteed a playoff spot.

 

Wakefield got knocked around in the first two innings. I don't know if I'd have gone with him today. The knuckleball is such a hit-or-miss pitch that you can't take that risk seeing that this is THE most important game of the series to win.

 

Go Sox. Nothing would please me more than the Yankees shut out of the playoffs, and Stienbrenner going absolutely ape poopy.

too bad Wakefield pitched like trash early in the game. johnson didn't pitch well early, either (50+ pitches in the first two innings).
