Tribune speculates that AAA pitching coach Krasnitz (sp?) could be in line for the pitching coach job. Thoughts? I don't know much about the guy.

Thanks for the link...but I guess I missed the discussion of Krasnitz..except for the comment about the someone just wanting a change...

 

Anyone who follows the I-Cubs know much about how he has done with that staff? Heck...I guess Hill does a lot better down there so that's a start at least.

While I like the idea of getting a new pitching coach, I don't like the idea of going in-house with a guy like Kranitz. As I see it, the biggest problem with the Cub pitching staff, apart from allowing the home run ball, is the inability to throw strikes. The pitchers who have come up from AAA (Leicester, Wellemeyer, Van Buren, etc.) have been tremendous dissapointments in that regard.

 

It's great that the Cubs have identified that Rothschild might be part of the problem, I just don't think it is a good idea to replace him with an unknown who may bear just as much responsibility for that problem.
