I'm not implying that I believe the Cubs are going to oust Dusty Baker at the end of this season. Otherwise, I would have placed this in the transactions forum. However, I'm certain that many of you are more familiar with Jim Leyland's managerial style than I am. What I know is that he got his start coaching in the majors with LaRussa, he too had success with Barry Bonds, and he won it all with a VERY talented Florida Marlins team.

Is he the type of manager that would embarrass a player by pulling him from a game if he loafed to first base for instance? Is he the type of manager that proactively mentions fundamentals during the regular season in addition to teaching them during spring training?

Thanks for any info you can provide.
