The first Peoria game is actually a continuation of the rain-delayed game from last week. It will start in the top of the third. It was scoreless when postponed.

Thanks, I'll get that box posted.

yeah this first one is gonna be weird. We are in the visiting dugout as always in Davenport and wearing our raod grays....but we ARE the home team since the game started at O'Brien. Granted I'd rather blow these guys out, but wouldn't it be funny for the Chiefs to get a ROAD Walk-off win!

Does anyone know if Darin Downs has pitched at all recently? Is he still in Boise?

He's injured, his last start was on 8/2. Donald Veal has replaced him in the rotation ever since. No clue what the injury is.

No, he pitched on 8/14. He just didn't do that well.

Thanks. I stumbled on something from cubs.com about that start, but couldn't match up the dates with the box scores in the forum, so I just assumed Carrie Muskat had made a mistake.

This means there's a good chance Darin will start today.

Unfortunately, it looks like you're right about Avery going tonight. He started on the 13th, so possibly Downs tomorrow.

Yeah, Downs should go tomorrow (didn't count their off day yesterday). I guess that means Michael Hyle was bumped from the rotation (despite not doing too bad as a starter).

Yeah, Hyle came out of the bullpen on the 14th (and didn't do much better than Downs).

Ryan Harvey not in the lineup for game 1 (looks like he wasn't to start the original game) ... he's coaching 1B, though.

Eric Patterson with a sparkling web gem play -- diving stop & throw -- to end the top of the 4th(?)!

Ryan wasn't in the lineup Saturday (was his second missed game with his hamstring injury). He isnt ready to play RF yet and to pinch hit him at the DH position we would have lost a player right off the top and we only have 3 available bench guys as it is.

Ryan is available to PH and expect him to start game 2 at DH. 0-0 bottom 5

Thanks! I figured that was the case with Harvey, but I've been switching between games.

The Chiefs are GOING TO TOWN in the 5th!

Sam Fuld - lead-off HR

Simokaitis - double

EPatterson - stand up triple

Jesse Schmidt - HR

4-0 Chiefs!

The carnage continues!

Larsen pop-flies out, then

Granato doubles off the wall

Rick doubles off the wall

Smith flies out - deep to the wall

Rivera rbi single as the Chiefs bat around

Fuld singles for his 2nd hit of the inning

Simokaitis grounds out

6-0 Chiefs

They've really needed an inning like this for the past week.

For those that may not be aware, Brandon Sing is 1 HR away from setting the single-season HR record for the Jaxx!

or for the past month! we had more hits with runners in scoring position in that inning than the whole 4 game series at South Bend!

GEEZ. Marmol gives up his THIRD homer of the game (a monster shot from Gabriel Martinez) and it's now 4-0 Mobile with one out in the second.

Well, Marmol settles down with a flyout, K and groundout. 4-0 in the middle of the second, WT down.

Chiefs win the first game 6-2 and Grant Johnson goes 7 today = a CG since it was postponed from last week. His ERA is down to 3.41. Sam Fuld goes 3/5 and his avg is up to .288.
