I'm slowly maturing as a baseball fan, from a naive HR and AVG watcher to a more OPS and OPS slant. But I'm still pretty far from understanding alot of it. I'm (somehow) struggling to convince my brother how bad Neifi Perez and Jose Macias and Dusty Baker are :).

 

So my request is, what websites, books, articles, etc . . . are must-reads to understanding complicated baseball stats? I'm not willing to pay for much right off the bat, but if I find this to be necessary, I eventually may relent.

 

I would really appreciate any helpful input.
