The 2005 Cubs team in my humble opinion needs to be blow up. Watching them cause me to have physical pain and much mental anguish.

I don't expect T. Walker to be around to much longer. He'll be traded and Hairston will start at 2nd making room for one of the rookie outfielders.

I expect Remlinger to be traded. Maybe Rusch back to Milwuakee.

The Cubs will be sellers this year my diehard Cub fans. Unfortunately, with the current manager I feel we will not progress untill his removal. I hung with Dusty enough but his inability to see the obvious is a detriment to the team. This has effected my entire life. For example since I live in Florida and Hurricane Dennis is coming I couldn't care less. I'm actually hoping it hit me so I don't have to watch the Cubs blow another painful game and continue the free fall.

The trading will begin soon. I'm sure other teams are extreamly happy to see the Cubs stumbling and falling on their faces.

Wow Scott, just a few days ago you posted the "We got'um right where we want them!" thread, and now you want the team blown up. But I'm right with you - this losing streak and the fact that it's happening to a wild card contender have left me listless about this season. A few days ago I thought we had some hope, now no more.

i think most of the blame has to fall on the shoulders of the players...i just dont think dusty can go out there and hit for the cubs...no offense....it is hard to win a game when you dont score runs, no matter who the manager is......true, dusty has made some mistakes, but i still feel the palyers have got to do their jobs....IMO

TB_11 I cannot understand how this team just dies. It shows no life. I honestly haven't read or seen anything that would indicte a change in attitude. If I did I would tell you (see the May 16 posting).

It all starts with starting pitching and our starts are not giving quality starts at all. Prior should have gone down to the minors and pitched but he refused and is getting eaten up!

Our offense has not been seen.

Our pen is exposed because our starters have been pitching BP.

Our defense ins't helping.

This team is failing ever aspect of baseball and that is the coaching period.

I don't see a bright spot on this team. The only spark I saw was Neifi arguing a play that wasn't even close.

But remember one thing. This team is not done ripping our hearts out. They will go on a run and everything will be rosey once more before the season is over I promise. I just don't see how they would be able to sustain a playoff run currently.

They should feel no pressure right now at all. My advice.

Get back to baseball basics with these guys and maybe we have a chance. If not then get Dusty out of there. The players are not responding to him at all.

And that should be the biggest strike against him. For being such a "players manager", he's lost this team.

I'm out in New York without WGN, and work long hours, so I don't get a chance to watch many games. From everything I've read though they've become listless out in the field, and the one guy who can carry them is out with a bum shoulder. From what I've read and seen, I'm with you Scott, this losing streak has made me lose just about all hope.

It's funny - I always thought this team lived and died with its starting pitching. Prior goes down, and the team puts together a nice run. We get Prior and Kerry back for an eight game losing streak.
