Hoyer and Counsell

I feel like 2028 is going to be a pivotal year for the Cubs if they can’t get over the hump as far as the NLDS. We’ve had the same results with a high-priced manager and front office that can’t quite seem to find the right formula while keeping the team largely intact. PCA aside, I think this team needs a major overhaul in the next year or two. Counsell’s contract is up in 2028 and while Hoyer recently signed an extension, there’s pressure to win with PCA doing so well. Counsell can’t beat his old team and we are aging. This doesn’t even consider our pitching woes. It’s also only a matter of time before the Cards start competing again as well. Seems like we have a short window with this group.
