What do you think is more important for a lead off hitter.

Just get on base. Anything beyond that is bonus. Speed is great but you can't steal second without getting on first, first.

What's amazing is that (so far) 32 out of 32 people on an internet message board know that OBP is more important than speed when it comes to a leadoff man, yet 0 out of 1 current Cub managers are aware of this.

I think 44 out of 44 officially ends my arguement with my white sox friend who calls me biased for saying id rather have a guy with a higher obp be my lead off hitter than someone whos has like 40 stolen bases already.
