Couldn’t we just release Remlinger and add another bench player? Telemaco is nothing special. If we are upgrading the bullpen, let’s upgrade with a better pitcher. I would rather take my chances with Welly or Leicester.

Telemaco may accept assignment. He left after spring training and was contemplating retiring, and he is seen as a coach in the future. He may not want to cut ties with the organization he has been with since ’99 at this stage in his career. If he does go through waivers, he’ll only cost the claiming team a waiver fee and the prorated 525k he’ll make in the majors, so it’s likely he would be gone before we had a chance to claim him. Is he really worth giving up a prospect for?

If you’re expecting anything of value for Remmy today, you are bound to be disappointed. Either you dump him now for nothing, or run him out there in July hoping he’ll have a few good games to increase his trade value.

Let go by the Phillies, let's bring him back, he can be a useful middle reliever. Dump Remlinger to the Yankees or Rangers for a prospect to clear out the spot.

I think that the word 'prospect' should be used loosely here. A lot of times when talking about trades we throw that word out for one end of the deal, but in this case what we would get in return is a 'minor leaguer'. Prospect is a term for someone who has the potential to make an impact on the major league level. We must realize that if we trade Remlinger, we shouldn't have any expectations for the player we get in return. Remlinger has hinted at retirement even before the season and I think he realizes that he has nothing left in the tank. I realistically believe he'll be the next to be designated for assignment if a roster spot is needed. I like the guy but his ship has sailed.

I think Amuary's career is the future of Juan Cruz. Lotta talent, no command, erstwhile journeyman. Just good enough to warrant a chance, but never good enough to stick.
