I think it is appropriate. The camera man wasn't antagonizing him. He was simply doing his job. If you don't like being on camera, you shouldn't be a professional athlete. That's like being a teacher but not wanting to deal with children.

 

This sends a message to all baseball players. You cannot take out your frustration on the media.

So you're saying that if a pitcher on a team that has good starting pitching like the White Sox, 20 would be justified? If MLB wants him to miss 4 starts, then they need to add 4 more games to the suspension. B/c after game 20, the Rangers can play him, they jkust move him back, he doesn't miss his 4th start.

he should maybe have to buy him a new camera and say im sorry and that should be the end of it as far as i can see. Why does everyone especially the media want to make such a big deal out of this??? Just because they can??? It really didn't look that bad to me... 2-3 missed starts is if anything a little on the harsh end i guess.

I think unprovoked attacks on people not involved in the game should be dealt with harshly.

Are you kidding? What kind of precedent would that set if he missed one or two starts? A lot of the Cubs didn't like Steve Stone last year; I'm sure a few of them would have been happy to go shove him around a little if they knew they'd only miss a game or two. As for MLB's suspensions being paid, that is a complete joke. Guys can act like morons on and off the field and not worry about losing any green. I don't feel like going to work tonight, maybe if I find a dude with a camera and beat him up tonight I can skip out on work and get paid for it. What a scam.

Guy is trash, and as an Indiana Pacer fan, we got killed as a team for the season almost based off of starting a teensy weensy riot :lol: Rogers should be out for the year...

 

Now maybe the Cubs can do the classy thing here and give the Rangers a starting pitcher (why, they can choose between Glendon Rusch and Sergio Mitre!) to help them move Rogers to a team desperate for pitching (Hello New York Yankees! Why, we'll even give you Todd Hollandsworth to make up for your loss. And all we'd ask in return is Kevin Mench and Gary Sheffield. :P
