If the market for Stroman is insane, sure, go ahead and pull the trigger on a long term benefit. On the flip side, if you can pick up a solid SP or 3B or 1B without sacrificing any long term team value, maybe you do that.

This is my thinking too. Regardless of their record they should be looking everywhere to add some near MLB ready pieces at positions of need. Use the depth of your system to make some improvements. Start building the 2024 team right now instead of trying to do it all in FA. Especially since we know they won't outbid anybody for stars and the FA class doesn't look deep anyway. I'd still lean towards moving a guy like Stroman right now too. But it's going to drive me crazy if they just decide to do nothing at the deadline to improve the future.
