9/24/20 - SHAM CUBS (Mills) @ Pirates (Kuhl) - 12:35 CST - BS Propaganda TV channel / 670

The Cubs offense has a major issue with launch angle. Even with all of those hard hit balls yesterday their xba for the game was 214.

Look your just not gonna find much success consistently with single digit launch angles, like most of the Cubs hitters have. Most of their hard hit balls are horsefeathering grounders. Look:

EV/LA

114.5/14 - lineout (ill buy the bad luck there)

113.6/-2

106.8/-26

104.7/23 (surprise, a two-bagger)

97.0/-20

96.5/-14

96.1/-14

94.6/32 (another double)

I looked through the log from the day before as well and much of the same. 6 balls hit over 100 mph, 2 of them were double digit LA, one went over the fence. These guys just have seemingly poor pitch recognition (zswing-oswing is abysmal and they cannot lay-off the high fastball) and flat swing paths. And yeah I've said all this before so sorry if it's obnoxious. Another issue they have is their propensity to pull just about everything and make it easy for the defense, even on hard hit balls.

Was it here that i saw that tweet about the Cubs have seen 300+ fastballs middle-middle and have only put 70 of them in play? I mean... that speaks for itself. Thats absolutely awful. Their approach is tremendously flawed.
