My point in asking is the best candidates may not love mitch, or want to be tied to him.

 

Which brings me back to: If you feel that way, why do you want the Bears job out of the 15 jobs that are open this offseason?

I guess that depends on who you believe to be a “top candidate”. I doubt any of them are hard set against Mitch. Why would they be?

Id worry more about a defensive minded coach not wanting to invest in the offense, or not knowing how to do so.
