I will always prnounce it "Matt ZOO-CAR" in my head, for whatever reason.

 

I can't figure out how to type the phonetic way I read it in my head. Kind of like "sure" with a z (shzure)?

i always spell samardzija correctly because in my head i basically say it perfectly phonetically..sah-mard-zih-jah

Spelling it was always difficult until I just noticed his last 4 letters were Zija, which sounds like a Wu-Tang member... so I just memorized what came before it, Samard. Then Zija. Samardzija. It's the collection of odd consonants that gets you, but if you break it up into something really stupid like an unknown member of Wu-Tang it's a lot easier

I suppose this could be dispersed among all the player threads, but the coaching staff has done an amazing job getting everyone to cut down on strikeouts (something that's been concerning for most of them for a long time).

 

Baez: 30% 2015 K% -> 23.5% in 2016

Bryant: 30.6% -> 21.8%

Russell: 28.5% -> 20.2%

Soler (even as awful as he's looked): 30% -> 22.6%
