Would shawon dunston have had a more productive career had he been converted to a pitcher?

Please look at his fangraphs page before you answer.

This doesn't seem like a serious question at all.

It is.

I'm always amazed at how long a career shawon dunston had as a starter while being awful just because people in baseball didn't know anything about anything back then.

he played 18 seasons in the bigs, made 2 AS teams and earned $24M in 1990s dollars and earned MLB pension

for the Cubs he was basically an injury-prone Starlin Castro, then he bounced around as the cagey vet serving in mostly a bench role for various teams for the next decade

i don't see the big deal with it

I'm not saying it's a big deal, it just kinda blows my mind.

Starlin has more career WAR in less than half as many PA despite having two absolutely horrific seasons under his belt.

And he had an incredible (albeit wild) arm so I just wonder if he wouldn't have had a more productive career as a pitcher. Seems conceivable to me.

I hope if dogs ever take over the world and they choose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are some Chihuahuas with some good ideas.

To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kinda scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus and a clown killed my dad.

If you ever crawl inside an old hollow log and go to sleep, and while you're in there some guys come and seal up both ends and then put it on a truck and take it to another city, boy, I don't know what to tell you.

One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. "Oh no," I said, "Disneyland burned down." He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.

As a pitcher he probably never would have made it out of MiLB
