Honestly as long as the Cubs are within 3-4 of a playoff spot come Sept 1, I'm really not going to get all that worked up on a day to day basis. I must have grown up because I was leading the irrational brigade in years past

Yeah, I'm still not in any kind of a mode to worry about standings, much less in the middle of June. I'm just happy with being above .500 and the young guys mostly kicking asses.

all the deep blackhawks runs have really put regular season baseball into perspective for me.

Back to the Castro talk - when do they finally move him to 2nd base? It makes so much more sense. Russell has been absolutely amazing on defense at 2nd with an occasional hiccup, Castro has been absolutely miserable at short with an occasional stretch of 2-3 good errorless games.

See the thing is, you have to get over that hump first and that's not going to be easy. A playoff appearance this year would open up that door though.

If for no other reason, try it in the event Baez comes back strong and someone is willing to give up a lot for Castro.

I moved to Chicago last month and when I signed my lease back in March I anticipated a decent year, but didn't expect them to be so aggressive with the farm system, but it's made the move a lot more exciting.

Yes. The Blackhawks know how to win in the playoffs so it makes the regular season pointless. They could finish as an 8 seed and still be favorites because of their playoff experience.

Castro would probably be all pissy of he was moved to another position. He doesn't exactly seem like the "whatever I need to do to help the team win" type guy. If he's not a middle infielder, his numbers aren't really good even at his best. You want your corner outfielders and corner infielders to be better run producers.

i kind of want to give up 11 more runs if only because it would be funny to have that kind of pythag swing in like 2 days

That first part you completely made up.

That along with you saying Castro and Soriano are the two dumbest players ever makes me cringe a little.

Too bad Schwarber is DH, this would be a good time to put him at catcher and let him get a few innings back there.

I said Castro and Soriano were the dumbest players ever?? I think I said they are unintelligent baseball players, but I don't really have a gauge for comparison?

My fault. I don't remember what made Soriano so unintelligent, though.

Soriano was far from an unintelligent baseball player

so a couple of innings ago they had a promo for teachers appreciation night on Tuesday. I looked at tickets, it's $30 with the promo but $29 without the promo. Am i missing something?

The inability to understand the concept of a walk or on base percentage would be the reason for my lack of enthusiasm for Castro and Soriano.
