corey black so far tonight: 5 ip, 1 h, 0 r, 0 bb, 6 k. tennessee did manage to scrape across a run against blake snell, who had pitched 51 innings this season without giving up a single run.

baez has 2 singles in 2 at bats. on the down side, he's been making a truckload of errors this year. 2 more tonight, which puts him at 11 in 22 games.

Both of the errors tonight came on the same play, he botched the ground ball failing to field it cleanly (error 1) then tried to shovel toss the ball to Alcantara at 2nd to get a force out but it was far to late for that anyway and the toss flew over Alcantara (error2).

Utterly picking the wrong day to praise him, since he blew the save, but Michael Jensen's had a really strong year and there hasn't been anything to suggest that he isn't the same guy as before, a guy who can hit mid-90's with a good breaking ball. Feels like if we are in need of a righty, non-closer arm, I'd almost prefer giving him a look than some veterans.

 

A part of me still wonders what might've been with Jensen as a starter had he not lost a season. That said, he might've been destined to the BP anyways.

I've quietly monitored Jensen all along. Though I don't see him as an answer to the back end, and would still like to acquire something along the lines of Papelbon or Soriano, I'd certainly be inclined to give him a look instead of the usual upper level dregs.
