HTML5/webm/gifv support

A lot of the new gif technology that's being used for sports clips on the web aren't supported for direct linking phpbb. For example, the popcorn baseball catch that I posted a min ago is only 1mb in size under webm format, but is almost 25mb in a gif format, which is what I had to post it as here if I wanted to embed it.

 

I'm not at all familiar with PHPBB extensions, or versions and what the capability of supporting these formats are, but it'd be nice if the site could manage those.

So I just checked for an extension that will support gifv again, and came across this extension, which supports a LOT of media files, includeing gfycat, Imgur (gifv) and a ton of other sites, without using BBCode. It's listed as a beta, but thought I'd mention it.
