Yeah, the red ass thing doesn't last very long. I have a hard time seeing him getting along with Cutler.

He (or any coach) really just needs to get along with Cutler for one year. And obviously if it blows up during year one... you do whatever you have to do in season to subside it knowing you can walk away without much pain that off-season. A two year arrangement with Cutler would be ideal though.

 

I'm not really high on Harbaugh for what he'll command (not just in salary, but I believe FO duties. Don't think he'd necessarily ask/need the full GM duties, but may want final say in certain matters).

Going back to college seems like an awful lot of work when a pro team will pay him a lot of money, too.

Yeah, but if you have the attitude that he does, you tend to wear out your welcome quickly and you can get away with that when you're recycling an entire set of players every four years. I have a feeling that's why Saban went back.

This is such bizarre thinking to me when Phillips would be hiring the new GM. It's so easy who I'd rather make a hire given those options.
