Many thought this past weekend's away series and Lake's demotion was the time to bring Soler up.

We start a homestand tomorrow with two strong teams (San Fran and the Orioles), followed by road series with tough division rivals (Reds and Cardinals). The schedule doesn't get any easier when the rosters expand. We start September with Brewers, Pirates and at Blue Jays.

Does the schedule matter at all, or it's simply a matter of waiting until the rosters expand? He's kind of cooled off a little bit in the last week, but does it really matter? Would 25 game September audition against teams in the pennant race be a deal breaker? Certainly can't be because of Ruggiano or Sweeney.

Love the forum by the way. Best Cub chatter out there.
