i've been thinking, and the perfect way for this "things seem to be going too well for the cubs" sequence to end would be a major rizzo injury during the all-star game. so let's all watch for that.

So Rizzo makes the ASG and expressed and interest in being in the home run derby, and instead the final spot in the derby goes to Justin Morneau, who lost out to Rizzo in the final roster vote. I get that it's pandering to the Minnesota crowd, but I'm kind of pissed about Rizzo not being in the HR Derby, especially considering he earned the right to be there in the first place and he straight up said he'd love to be in it, and he's got the 3rd most HR in the National league (behind two guys who are in the HR derby and the ASG).

 

Lame.

 

Also, Josh Donaldson was the last add to the HR derby for the AL squad

No no no no to Rizzo in the HR derby. Rational or not I have no interest in him (or probably any Cub) being in the derby.
