These head traumas scare the crap out of me. I've had 3 solid concussions in my life. One bad one in 5th grade that caused my vision to turn on me. Looked like I was looking through a broken window. One in 9th grade baseball. Took a knee to the side of the head while diving for the ball (RF "didn't hear me" calling everyone off). Woke up on my back facing the opposite direction about 5minutes later. Then another in college (fell off loft, cracked head on corner of desk). I just worry that they can add up. I haven't noticed any issues, but what if one more knock throws me off?

I think you're having issues because you posted nearly this exact same thing on the same page in this thread.

Son of a bitch! Look at that! I guess I should have scrolled up. I only thought about it because I hit my head on the ground the other day while playing with my daughter in the snow. I felt a little "lost" for a few seconds and was back to normal. I've had a headache since then, though. Does having concussions make you more susceptible?

I've heard it does make you more susceptible, but I always thought it was in regards to additional trauma in a close proximity. Not sure if that would stick with someone for a long time.

Have I mentioned that I've had 3 concussions? The first was...

If you've really had a headache since then, and it doesn't sound like it was a very vicious blow that caused you to lose it, I think that's something to really be cautious about. Not sure if a medical professional can really do anything other than monitor the symptoms but it may be worth checking if there's still a headache. At the very least, I hope your trying to stay inactive.

Yeah, what he said; head injuries freak me out, and a headache lasting more than a day after you've hit your head is something to definitely get checked out ASAP.

I think it was a combination of the banging my head a bit and coming down with something. I feel fine today, though.

Eh, I'm paranoid enough about that stuff that I'd check it out, especially with the way you described it.

I worked for a guy who had a constant headache for years. He went to dozens of doctors and flew all over the country and they couldn't figure it out

If they ran tests and everything looked fine, it could have been an allergy. I had the same problem as a kid and the culprit was food coloring. I haven't had candy, Hawaiian Punch, Twinkies, etc since I was in the 1st grade.

This was a migraine-level headache 24/7 for multiple years

NO HAWAIIAN PUNCH!? I'm sorry, but that's not a life worth living...

I'm beginning to see some advantages...

On a serious note, did you/your parents figure this allergy out on your own, or did you have to see a doctor to figure it out?

I was constantly sick as a little kid and they didn't know why. Keep in mind that my family was poor as church mice in those days, so not the best medical care. In the 1st grade there was one of those end of the school day kiddie birthday parties with store bought cake and a gallon of that orange drink crap. By the time my mom came to get me I was breaking out in hives and my tongue was swelling. I got a shot of adrenalin in my ass at the hospital, went to see an allergist the next day and the rest was history. Not coincidentally, I really never get sick as an adult and I have all of my teeth in great shape at 41.
