Oh Jesus. You know that's not what I'm saying. I asked a simple question about whether his illegal roster got him a win bc it's important to wipe that out. Since winning is, like, the point of fbb.

Are you intentionally being dense?

As what sometime happens with reading anything I took your post as being sarcastic. My apologizes if I misinterpreted.

Brien didn't get a "win" last week, did he?

Not really the point.

Sort of the point, actually

So teams can continue to do things against the rules and it's okay as long as they don't win? Got it.

MR has been about the most stickliest stickler for the rules this year, i don't think he's saying that.

i definitely think he should have points taken away for having an illegal roster, win or lose. however, we seem to have abandoned that "wipe out your points if your roster is illegal rule."

now if he gained points from those illegal players, i think you could tell tim or whoever is the commissioner and he could take them away. but in a match up that you won against a team that doesn't appear to be in the race for a playoff spot (that could require a points scored tie breaker), it's probably not worth getting worked up over at this point. especially since i don't know that anyone has ever figured out how many illegal points he scored.

now, either al or rodelo needs to add up the points earned/lost by KR on monday and get that to tim so the adjustment can be made. they have a close match up and both are in the playoff race.

Adam the voice of reason?!? What the [expletive] is going in this league this year?!?!?

frankly, the league is kind of a [expletive] mess this year. it may be time to mercy kill it. people are clearly not paying as much attention to it and due to our billion complicated rules, it is very difficult to bring in new people to replace those who aren't actively managing.

As the victim of this situation, let me remind everyone that this is a $10/year fantasy baseball game among friends.

Am I upset that my opponent is essentially given a do-over? Yes, a bit.

Do I understand the need to keep the rules simple? Yes, and in 95% of the situations the league's ruling would be good. But this time, it actually worked to my opponents advantage.

Do I think that my opponent purposely mishandled his line-up? No.

I would be happy if the league kept with its current ruling, but I would like to make the following suggestion. Maybe our penalties should be like those for football, where the assessment of the penalty is up to the victim. ie ... Do you want the play to stand or do you want to apply the penalty? So if a holding penalty is assessed on a play where the offense lost 15 yards, then the defense declines the penalty. Automatically assessing the penalty could actually help the perpetrator. So does the victim want all the stats from the day erased or let the stats from the day stand?

Remember, justice needs to be blind here. If at some point in the future I make a similar mistake, then this choice needs to be given to my opponent.

I would like to point out what is probably obvious to everyone. Adam is not the innocent by-stander in this situation. A Quaker's win could mean a great deal to him.

Again relax and have fun. A heated discussion of the league's rules is part of the fun of the game.

The rules need to be applied to everyone the same. Other teams beyond the direct opponent are affected by the outcome. Besides, the less subjectivity, the fewer arguments there should be.

What did I miss? I only my roster was illegal after two trades and I think I made the changes accordingly (maybe the timing was off a bit since I am out of the country) but it was done. I saw the zeroes after Monday's games so it shocked me a bit but then saw posts about illegal rosters and adjustments were going to be made. So are you saying no adjustments? I think it will be an easy fix because my team scored exactly zero (I am in the UK so I saw my scores when I woke up in the morning - Myers score exactly was negated exactly by all the other scores including two starts - Minor and Cain). I will keep my starts at 5 to accommodate the two missing starts.

wait, so we're not giving KR back the points he had from monday (and making him use the two starts he used)? we've done this every single other time this has happened this year, right?

there, i went and figured it out. he scored 10.25 points on monday and used two starts. tim, please add those points (and starts) to KR's score like you did last week for RWD.

I don't know what happened...I made a reply to Quaker's post and now it is blanked but anyways I don't know what happened but I thought Tim was going to adjust - probably got busy then I see Quaker's post so I am all confused.

I thought that I scored zero points on Monday with 2 starts but I must have missed the late games - will trust Abuck on the calculation :). My suggestion was to only have five starts since I thought I had zero points if an adjustment could not be made.

Just a heads up, from June 28-July 11, I will basically be off the grid on vacation.

I will try to set a reasonable lineup, but would ask a commissioner powered person to watch for starts violations and if so, feel free to move guys around.

My team has gone from good, to ok, to shitty mash unit.

I will follow up on any trade requests when I am back.

Was he trying to lose?

Going to take me a long time to get past that fit of insanity, isn't it?
