Angel Guzman gets 50 game ban

Dodgers minor leaguer Angel Guzman has been issued a 50-game suspension following a positive test for a drug of abuse, according to an MLB press release. This is Guzman's second violation of the league's drug policy. Guzman last pitched in the majors in 2009 as a member of the Cubs, and he signed a minor league deal with L.A. in December.

 

Had such high hopes for him. He was a solid reliever in 2009.

I had much higher hopes than that. He has/d good enough pitches to be a good starter.

I had hopes that he'd join Mark Prior, Kerry Wood, Juan Cruz, and Carlos Zambrano in one of the greatest rotations in the history of the game.

Poor guy couldn't stay healthy no matter what he did.

Still remember when this guy was said to be the most talented pitcher in a system that just put out Prior. He really was filthy too in the tiniest doses at the big league level, especially early.

Craziest thing was how great his control was when he was a youngster for that nasty of stuff.. he had top of the line rotation potential.
