it really makes no sense to allow teams to keep 8 friggin' guys on their bench up until the day before the season starts. those players could be picked up by other teams that are maintaining legal rosters.

I thought guys that weren't officially on the DL had to be on your active roster (so I kept Morse on the bench and dropped another player, even though Morse may miss the opener). But other teams have guys on their team DL right now.

 

Are we just skipping week 1 entirely since so many rosters are illegal?

I think Anderson, Howard and Braden are all actually on the DL. So I think my roster is legal.

i think the rule is, you can put them on the DL now, but if for some reason they don't start the season on the DL, you lose them.

Someone with Commish powers need to change the roster limits back so that teams can tell they are illegal. Right now it shows every team is legal. Either that or guys forgot today was "soft" opening day. :-k

HBC has a four man bench.

 

kid rodelo has a seven man bench.

 

tootielicious has a league record eight man bench.

 

eyes of texas has cashner and tomlin on his DL. if they don't start the season on the DL (and i don't believe either is injured), he will/should lose both.

i don't know how to do that, but i did change the rules so that rosters which don't adhere to the roster limits will score zero points. hopefully that will raise the red flag when you're on the roster page. i'll also send out a note to the league saying that rosters need to be made legal.

ok looks like that works (i moved one of my minor league players to the majors and it gave me the red error message about having too many reserves). also posted on the message board about legal rosters; hopefully most people have it set up so that they receive an e-mail when a message is posted. between that and this forum there's really no excuse to not update teams.

also, how does 4 starts sound for week 1? aside from this mariners/a's series and then marlins opening day, featuring the world's most expensive lawn ornament, there are 4 days of games in week 1. we do 7 starters for most weeks, so a max of 4 starters in week 1 would seem to make sense.

CBS has been slow to post the scheduled starts. I hope this is only because of the weird start to the season. I depend upon CBS's accuracy during the season.
