Yeah, he mentioned something about this a couple months back. Apparently he wasn't ready to hang em up.

Of course, due to his "retirement" that 100 game suspension from last year hasn't gone into effect yet. So in order to mount a comeback he'd have to find a team that would be willing to sign him despite the fact his first major league at bat with the team will be his first in nearly two full years. If he's willing to work for league minimum, he might find a team willing to take a chance... but I'd imagine the potential for bad press will scare a lot of teams off well before they find out his pricetag.

MLB Reinstates Manny Ramirez

By Mike Axisa [December 10 at 8:34am CST]

MLB has officially reinstated Manny Ramirez from the voluntary retirement list according to ESPN's Buster Olney (on Twitter). Ramirez intends to attempt a comeback next year, but will first need to serve a 50-game suspension for his failed PED test this past season.

Manny, now 39, has been calling teams directly to find employment, though neither the Dodgers or Rays are expected to have much interest in him. There aren't many clubs in need of a DH, plus there are still several DH candidates on the free agent market that come with less baggage. Ramirez will likely have to settle for a non-roster invite to Spring Training.

My guess is that a low-mid market team will offer him a big league deal with a low base salary with incentives hoping that if nothing else he'll be a draw. I wouldn't be surprised if Billy Beanes on the line with his agent as we speak.
