Anybody buying Packers stock today?

it's a pretty unfair advantage that the packers are the only team in the nfl with a fan base stupid enough to fall for that "stock" scheme.

What. You don't think 250$ for a piece of paper and a meaningless title is worth it?

and there are a lot of dumb people who happen to be Packer fans

True. However, most Bears fans I know in real life (both in Wisconsin and in Illinois) aren't the brightest bulbs themselves. Every fanbase has stupid fans. What's your point?

i am not willing to accept your conclusion that the people who choose to be your friend are reflective of the bears' fan base as a whole

I never said they were my friend. I said I knew them.

And what about the legions of Bears meatheads calling for Cutler's head after the NFC Championship game when he was out with a legit knee injury? Those Bears fans were bright?

All I've ever wanted is an explanation for the ridiculous amount of Cubs/Packers fans out there. Perhaps it's largely due to the Bears being atrocious in the 90s, which in turn makes some of these fans bandwagoners. Right?

For me, it was a family thing. It's what I've always been near. My grandfather was a Cubs fan, so my father was, and some of my earliest memories are my dad cheering for the Cubs on WGN TV (I have a few faded memories of the 1984 season) and it rubbed off on me. Also, I've been a Packers fan for just as long for the same reasons, plus being born and raised in Wisconsin means it's about 90% that you'll be a Packers fan.

I remember very few "bears fans" calling for Cutlers head, it was mostly idiot sportswriters.

You'll get nothing and like it.

Fielder would make an awesome DT for the Bears.

Haha...oops. Wrong thread, obviously.

I'm a Cubs, Bears, Magic, and TB Lightning fan. That's quite a bit different than liking every Chicago team except for one and in turn cheering for their biggest rival instead. Plus, I've never met another fan with the same combo of favorite teams. On the other hand I've seen hundreds of Cubs/Packers fans through the years. Just wondered if there was one prevailing reason why.

I was ten and I picked the teams who were on my TV most.

I have had Bears/Cardinals fans ask me how I can be a Cubs/Packers fan which is kind of strange and ironic.

I don't think I've ever met one Bears/Cardinals fan. Perhaps they're mostly in St. Louis and rooted for the Bears before the Rams came to town. Most Cardinals fans seem to be Chiefs fans though.

I know of at least one poster on NSBB who is a Cardinals/Packers fan.
