What exactly is your point here? That because one really really [expletive] baseball player had a good season, that every really [expletive] baseball player can do it? The fact that McGehee lucked into a good season should have zero effect on what we do with similar non-prospects.

 

McGehee is a more interesting creature than guys like Fox and LaHair who were always high SLG/OPS guys in the minors. McGehee was always a mid/high .700s OPSer in the minors, sucked during his cup of coffee with The Cubs and randomly exploded for 2 years with the Brewers, and fell off a cliff. Have to wonder if he was taking some fancy vitamins.

Anyone know if Golden dropped some weight from where he was in spring?

more recent pics of him in Boise have him looking thick but athletic, he doesn't look "fat" to me.
