Broke it playing pickup basketball, which is apparently not a violation of his contract.

Note to self: never play basketball with a pickup

I think that's why Joey Gathright always jumped over cars.

I like how whenever an athlete gets injured doing something pedestrian or normal that everyone else on the planet takes for granted, the moment they get injured the chicken little's of the world are up in arms over it. Who breaks a rib playing basketball? Who gets a sore wrist chatting with their family online? Who slips out of a hot tub? Who breaks their toe hopping over a fence? Who cuts their own finger off?

Cueto, you're next

Johnny Cueto had to leave Friday's start after two innings due to tightness in his forearm.

Cueto said he first felt the tightness in the bullpen while warming up and it bothered him most when he threw his breaking pitches. While the right-hander said "I'm fine" when asked how he was doing, this is a bit of a red flag, as forearm tightness can be a precursor to Tommy John surgery. For now, though, he should be considered day-to-day. He'll get his arm checked out Saturday.
