any idea on worthwhile guys in DSL?

Anybody have any clue on guys who might be worth keeping an eye on for the cubs' 2 DSL teams? Also, any clue where Dong-Yob Kim (spelling?) is? I know Na (the other teenage OF we signed from, IIRC, Korea) is at EXST, but i've seen no sign of Kim. Thanks

Joel Altagracia is on DSL Cubs 2 and he received a small 6-figure bonus a few years ago, though he struggled last season. I haven't heard anything else on the guys on either DSL squad. The Cubs don't really sign too many big bonus guys in Latin America (and a lot of the big bonus kids end up skipping the DSL) so we generally don't have a good idea on who to look for before the DSL season has started.

 

Dong-Yub Kim is at extended spring training but he's hurt. Not sure what the injury is.

thanks CR! i knew about altagracia from last year, but frankly i'm not expecting much from him after his performance last year. mostly when looking at the roster i look for the younger players—definitely the 16-year-olds, as well as the 17- and later-birthday 18-year-olds—and tall pitchers. I'm kinda hoping we land at least one of the top latin players on the market (i've seen cubs listed as interested in peguero) to solidify ricketts' claim that he wants to build a player development machine, although forking over $1.2 M for that pitcher from korea or taiwan over the winter was a nice step (hopefully he turns into something).

I would also think that Willson Contreras, who the Cubs gave (supposedly anyway) 700,000 or more last year, will be back there this season, after his 50 game suspension is over and done with.

wasn't carlos henry down there last year? i loved that guy, he apparently got a pretty good bonus and then hit .150 with about 70 errors.
