Archer is continuing his hot run of late: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K.

 

Robert Whitenack is throwing a no-hitter through 4. He has given up 2 runs and 2 walks though.

Robert Whitenack is throwing a no-hitter through 4. He has given up 2 runs and 2 walks though.

 

archer can be pretty frustrating; he has the stuff to be at the top of the rotation but his location leaves him too frequently. last game he was rolling along and then imploded in the 4th inning.

 

i think at the very least archer can be a tough ROOGY at the big league level (.203 BAA against RH batters in his major league career)

His BB rate has improved this season (5.45 BB/9 last season, 4.06 BB/9 this season). And that's at a higher level.

oh i'm not downgrading him at all - he's one of my favorite sleeper prospects because everyone seems to agree that he has big league stuff, just spotty control. i do think he has a good shot at making the bigs as a setup man even if his control and changeup don't improve much from where they are now.

Archer is doing good of late, too bad he cant get out of the shadows of Shaffer and DOLIS

 

Also good to see LeMahieu, Flaherty, and Ridling have good days

 

Meanwhile, Cales continues to dominate AA hitting
