last year hamels' BABIP was .270 in 2008 and .325 in 2009. his xFIP last year was basically the same as it was in 2008 and 2007. good luck happened to him in 2008 and bad luck happened to him in 2009.

 

this year the fly balls are going over the fence way too much (26% of fly balls coming into today's game) and since he struck out 10 guys in 6 innings, it would seem that he was victimized by bad luck again (since he allowed 9 hits).
