5 X 5 League Advice

So, apparently I really suck at roto style leagues. In a 10-team dynasty league, I've finished 10th then 9th. But now, I find myself with a nice looking group of keepers and the #2 pick.

 

We get 5 keepers, plus anyone we drafted in the last 2 rounds (if they remain on our roster) for 3 years.

 

My first 3 keepers are: Hanley Ramirez, Matt Kemp, Evan Longoria.

 

After that, I have to decide on keeping 2 of: Matt Holliday, Kendry Morales, Joe Nathan, Justin Verlander, Jon Lester, and Victor Martinez. Any advice?

 

I also have David Price and Joey Votto as my last round keepers from a couple years ago.

I would keep holliday and lester.

jeez raw, an IF of Longoria, Ramirez, and Votto with Kemp in the OF? Don't screw it up.

 

It'd be hard to throw Verlander back into the pool after the season he had last year, but he's got a lot of miles on that arm already. I think A-Cal's got it right. In this league, can you trade any of your players for draft picks? I bet you'd find a few people willing to give up their first pick for Verlander or even Nathan.

Yeah, I can trade. I guess that's what I can look to do. Other than those guys I named, my team sucked! Kerry Wood, AJ Burnett, Carlos Delgado, Carlos Quentin.

I'd be shopping JV for a first round pick and probably Nathan too. Someone in your league has to be willing to pay for saves.
