Seems like the cubs are never interested in these guys. The hype suggests that he is a major league position player. I would love to see the Cubs sign a guy like this. You can never have too many shortstops; because in theory they can play any where if need be.

 

Adeiny Hechevarria-SS- Player

 

According to George A. King III of the New York Post, the Yankees will be serious bidders on Cuban shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria. "The Yankees have been on him for a while," a scout told the Post. "Two weeks ago, about 50 scouts watched him work out and the Yankees were there. They also have seen him in smaller workouts." The 21-year-old Hechavarria is currently blocked from signing with a major league team by the Office of Foreign Assets Committee as they verify his age, identity and residency. In some circles, he is regarded as a better prospect than Jose Iglesias, who inked a four-year, $8.25 million contract with the Red Sox last September.
