The Mets lost another player today as Wright got hit in the head with a fastball (though he walked off the field on his own strength). I'm starting to actually feel sorry for them. SF is up 4-1, so it seems we won't get any closer to the WC lead today.

I was watching the game when David walked off. On my way into work I got a couple of texts from friends saying he was rushed to the hospital. Hopefully it's just taken to the hospital for routine tests.

i don't think i've ever cracked 70 with my "fastball" but i'm thinking i could post an ERA under 5 with a few dave duncan coaching sessions and the bird on a bat across my chest.

The Pirates had a chance to bust the game wide open 'till the pickoff. A great play by Molina, but how can you get picked off with the bases loaded? Where was he gonna go? Gad!!
