Anyone know when Jackson will report to Boise?

No idea, but I suspect he'll get into a few games down in the AZL first since it's been a while since Cal's season ended.

Has he done the usual first rounder stuff - BP at Wrigley, etc. yet? Because that comes first before he goes to Mesa.

Korean outfielder Dong-Yub Kim ($550,000 bonus) and Taiwanese infielder Pin-Chieh Chen ($300,000 bonus) made their MLBAAP debuts today in Gold Coast, Australia.

Kim came in in the game in the 5th inning in left field and went 1/3 (strikeout swinging, strikeout swinging, single to CF) with a run, an RBI and those 2 strikeouts.

Chen came in the game in the 5th inning at second base and went 0/3 (flyout to LF, 2-3 groundout, reached on an E-4) with a run, a stolen base and a fielding error.

Stupid. He's our top prospect and he should be getting as many at-bats as possible. The whole Cubs organization is mentally challenged.

I see no problem with this if it's only for a day or two as he comes up to a new level.

What Pevey did a few days ago batting him 7th in Peoria was dumb.

Nathan, if you can help me out here, is there a reason why I can't listen to Peoria games on MiLB.com? I click the link, Windows Media Player comes up but no volume ever comes out. I have the same problem when I go through WZPN's web site.

Guzman is slated to go 1 inning. Stuck listening to KC broadcast.

Gooz in the bottom of the 1st:

David Thomas grounds out to first base. One out.

Dusty Coleman strikes out looking on (I think) 3 pitches. Two outs.

Jason Christian strikes out swinging on a 1-2 pitch. Three outs.

1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 1 GO-0 FO. Approximately 10 pitches.

Today was the first time. It was on a PC at work.

I got you fine at home on a Mac.

Castro with 25 errors at about the midway point? Anybody got the scoop on his fielding? That seems like a lot of errors this early.

He's supposed to have good range and all the tools to be a good defensive SS. And he's still young.

Marco Carrillo has a 0.43 ERA.

0.41 if you count his 1 inning in Daytona.

makes very good plays and tough plays look easy, + arm..

BUT makes errors on the routine plays when he has time to think.. sometimes makes bad throws when he tries to aim instead of just throw it.

tonight was a bad hop i personally thought, was rolling along the ground then bounced up (was hit pretty hard)

http://www.pjstar.com/sports_chiefs/x135733002/Chiefs-lose-Vitters-Carpenter-to-Daytona

Hours after the teams announced that Josh Vitters was being promoted to high-A Daytona, the Chicago Tribune reported that Aramis Ramirez would play three games in a rehabilitation assignment with the Chiefs this weekend.

Ramirez, on the disabled list since May 8 with a dislocated left shoulder, could play Friday at Kane County and then Saturday and Sunday against Beloit in Peoria.

...

Those moves overshadowed Angel Guzman’s rehab appearance with the Chiefs on Tuesday.

The right-hander started the game at Kane County. He retired the Cougars in order on 11 pitches in his only inning of work. Guzman went on the disabled list June 21 with soreness in his triceps.

Guzman will likely head to Iowa to continue his rehabilitation before rejoining the Cubs.

Daytona News-Journal"]"We stunk in the beginning of the game with our pitching," Cubs manager Buddy Bailey said. "When you throw 65-70 pitchers in 2 2/3 innings, that puts a black cloud on the whole game. We're going to see if we can change a few things in (Dolis') delivery and see if we can make his command better. We have to do something."

...

Josh Vitters, the Cubs organization's top prospect, made his debut with Daytona and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

"He handled himself well," Bailey said of the third baseman who was third overall pick in the 2007 draft. "He hit a couple of balls well. They were just foul."

Knoxville News-Sentinel"]Reliever Marco Carrillo struck out four of the six Stars he retired. The right-hander sliced his earned-run average to .043 with 20 strikeouts in 21 innings.

"He look real sharp with good zip on the ball and went right at them at the knees with fastballs," Sandberg said.

Vitters may be ready for adv A pitching, but is he up to playing for Mr. Personality, Buddy Bailey ? He is the "manager from hell" and a detriment to the Cubs organization. :banghead:

Care to elaborate? I don't follow the minors much.
