Well, he just signed an extension in February, they have a low payroll ($67 mil) so they don't really have a need to move him, and they have some of the best young players in the game with some even better ones coming up through their system that will play before he leaves. KEeping him will give them a good chance at making something of themselves in the next few years before his extension ends. I don't see them trading him before the lastr year of his contract unless all of their up and coming prospects turn out to be rubbish, which probably won't happen. I touched on it in the rookie thread, but they are going to have a killer team in the next year or two

The Orioles have no reason to move Roberts. Maybe Huff or Mora, but not Roberts. With him, Wieters, Jones, and Markakis, they have a nice young core. No pitching, but a nice young core. Will they ever be able to compete with the Yanks, Sawx, or even Rays? Doubtful, but they shouldnt think that way and coceed every season until Steinbrenner dies, Epstein retires, and the Rays players go to different teams.
