College Baseball 2009

Congrats to former Cubs farmhand Tracy Smith as he led his Indiana Hoosiers to the Big Ten championship (up 11-2 in the 7th I think it's safe to declare it). If this score stands the Hoosiers will have outscored their opponents 45-9 over the four day tournament. They'll be led into the Regional by rhp Eric Arnett who stands to be a late 1st/early 2nd round pick in a couple weeks. Catcher Josh Phegley put up a .349/.464/.656, 17 hr, 65 rbi line for the year and is the best draft eligible player on the team in my opinion. Conference freshman of the year Alex Dickerson went .374/.429/.634, 14 hr, 57 rbi for the year.

 

Didn't think this deserved its own thread so with the conference tournaments being decided and the NCAA's around the corner I figured we can put the discussion here.
