i think at this point i'm rooting more for a walk than a home run from vitters. but cool on the HRs tonight from him and harrison; the guy they homered off of gave up 2 homers and 54 hits in 91 innings last season and supposedly has a very live (if erratic) arm.

Hopefully Ascanio will again start back in Iowa. I think he has a chance to be a solid SP and I hope he gets to work on this for more or less the rest of the season. He had nice stuff in his callup and I can see him being a good SP if the control he showed briefly in Iowa sticks around. If not, it's good work to tighten up his command and control for any future bullpen stints. We NEED cheap SPs under club control eventually!

Most teams have come around on D, maybe we can buck the trend and butcher it up with cheap mashers trying to hold on while hilariously overmatched on D. Would be entertaining on all counts. Hoff in OF! Fox at 1B/C/OF! Soriano at 2B! Russell Branyan! While we're at it just bring up Flaherty for SS/3B...haha ok I'm kidding but to some extent, it may be the direction we're going right now.

Fox is only starting at catcher about once every week because the backup catcher at Iowa (Mark Johnson) is dinged up and the regular (Chris Robinson) can't start every day.

Ascanio has been solid out of the pen which is much more than can be said for Cotts and Patton. I could really care less if we lose Patton back to the Rockies. He does nothing that Reinhard or Stevens cant do.

 

And whats the point of playing Fox at catcher? If he makes it to the Cubs, 3rd base is where hes needed, and however bad he is there, Im sure hes much worse, and much less needed at catcher.

sometimes the minor league team does things without the major league team in mind, hard though that may be to believe.
